All I Want for Christmas – My Top 5 ASUS and ROG Christmas Wishlist!

As the holidays come closer, we often think about giving to others like family, friends, and colleagues. But it’s also important not to forget about ourselves during this joyful time. As the year wraps up, it’s a good moment to look back on all the hard work, determination, sacrifices, and achievements that came along with it. Personally, I’ve always made it a goal to treat myself at the end of the year with things I really want, using it as motivation throughout the year. This year is no different. I have a lot of ideas, but in this article, I want to share my Top 5 ASUS and ROG Christmas wishlist. I’ve been eyeing some of their products for a long time now, and I’m excited to tell you about them.

Let me start with the essential one that doesn’t necessarily break the bank. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15.

ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Laptop

I can’t remember how many times I’ve recommended the ASUS TUF F15 Gaming Laptop to friends and family who are looking for a relatively affordable yet highly capable and durable gaming laptop. The ASUS TUF Gaming F15 Laptop offers essentially all the bare essentials its higher-end ROG brothers have but in a more budget-friendly design, features, and overall package.

The particular model that I have in mind for my personal wishlist is the FX507ZR-HQ033W variant. When it comes to Gaming Laptops, I have at least 4 things on my checklist: Display, Memory, Processor, and most importantly, Graphics Card. This particular model has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 which is an absolute must for 1440p gaming which this model also offers with a 15” WQHD display with a decent 165Hz refresh rate. On top of that, it also has a perfectly aligned 12th-Gen Intel Core i7-12700H processor, 16GB of RAM, and 1TB Gen4 NVME SSD. These are a perfect balance for an overall good 1440p gaming experience. On top of that, it’s also within a budget of less than Php 100k (Php 96,995) and comes with a laptop bag, an external mouse, and a 3-year warranty for an overall bundle worth Php 6,995. But if budget is not an issue, and as they say, if you dream, dream big, I’m going for the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16.

ROG Zephyrus Duo 16

The ROG Zephyrus Duo 16 is in my opinion, one of the most powerful gaming laptops out on the market right now with bells and whistles more than you can imagine. It has all the top-of-the-line hardware specifications and flex-worthy features. And since we’re talking about Sky’s the limit budget here, I’m writing down the GX650PY-NM044WS variant.

This beast has an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 with an AMD Ryzen 9-7945HX processor, a whopping 64GB of RAM, 2 x 2TB Gen4 NVME SSD, and a dual display setup featuring the main 16” WQXGA Mini LED display with up to 240hz refresh rate and a secondary 14” 4K ScreenPad Plus for multitasking opportunities. I actually did a video about this recently, which you can watch here. You can also click here to learn more about the ROG Zephyrus Duo 16.

Now, even though we’re paying a quite hefty price tag here of Php 379,995, you will get an ROG Backpack, an ROG Fusion II 300 Gaming Headset, an ROG Gladius 3 Gaming Mouse, a Type C PD Adapter and check this out, it will even come with an ROG Phone 6 + 3 Years Warranty for a bundle worth Php 51,490. Happy Holidays indeed!

Now, in an alternate reality where I don’t care much about gaming and want the absolute productivity and multitasking machine, I’ll definitely go for the ASUS ZenBook Pro 15 Duo OLED.

ASUS Zenbook Pro 15 Duo OLED

It features almost the same design idea as the ROG Zephyrus Duo also offering a dual display setup, but focuses more on the professional side of things prioritizing style and portability with a thin and light form factor. Not to mention a better overall OLED display. This one is targeted more toward content creators, artists, entrepreneurs, and professionals.

For this model, I can recommend either the UX582HS-H2002WS with an older 11th-Gen Intel Core i9-11900H processor but with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 graphics or the UX582ZM-H2046WS with newer 12th-Gen Intel Core i9-12900H processor but with a lower NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 graphics, both are with the same price of Php 209,995. So just pick your priority between processor or graphics. Aside from that, both feature a 15” 4K touchscreen OLED display with a secondary 14” 4K ScreenPad Plus IPS display with stylus support, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB Gen4 NVME SSD, and a bundle that consists of a Delsey Luggage, an ASUS Marshmallow wireless mouse, an ASUS Deskmat, a Canon Printer and ASUS Premium Care 1 year warranty extension. Another ROG Laptop that I’ve always wanted to experience is the ROG Flow Z13. I’m interested to know the things you can do on such a versatile form factor.

ROG Flow Z13

The use case scenarios are limited only by your imagination. You can use it as a laptop, as a tablet, or as a fully pledged gaming PC when partnered with the XG Mobile external graphics card. For on-the-go gaming, especially for casual and e-sports titles, I think this is a good alternative to the bigger ROG Zephyrus Duo 16.

If I’m not going to get the XG Mobile, I’ll definitely choose the GZ301VV-MU008WS with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 graphics, an AMD Ryzen 9-13900H processor with 16GB of RAM, and 1TB of Gen4 NVME SSD. But If I’m going to get the XG Mobile, I’ll settle for the cheapest GZ301ZA-LD072W (Php 84,995) with integrated Intel Iris Xe Graphics, 16GB of RAM with 512GB SSD and a 12th-Gen Intel i5-12500H. Unless I’ll do heavy editing and programming, this is good enough, otherwise, get the variant with a higher processor. ROG Phone 7

Last but not least, since the release of the ROG Phone back in the day, I’ve always wanted to experience it and get a grasp of how cool it is to hold as well as its overall performance with all its bells and whistles. We’re already at ROG Phone 7 and I haven’t pulled the trigger yet, maybe this coming holiday?

Speaking of bells and whistles, since I’m essentially pushing for the stars at this point, I’ll choose the Ultimate Variant which you can get at Php 3000 Off during this holiday. The Ultimate comes with the AeroActive Cooler 7 to make sure the phone is in tip-top shape during your competitive matches and will never be a limiting factor. The only thing you need to worry about is your skills and game sense.

The ROG Phone 7 Ultimate features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Processor with an Adreno 740 GPU with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 512GB of UFS 4.0 Storage, a massive 6.78” Samsung AMOLED Display, 3 Rear Cameras and 1 Selfie Camera, Dual front-facing speakers, and a substantial 6000mAh battery. You can get this for only Php 66,995 this coming holiday. If you need more details, click here
