1. Connect the micro USB cable to your Anycast M2 Plus Dongle
2. Connect the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle to your TV’s HDMI port (note the HDMI port number)
3. Connect the USB cable to your TV’s USB port
4. Make sure that the wireless receiver is not being blocked for better reception.
5. Turn on your TV and change the source to HDMI (choose the HDMI number where you plugged in your Anycast M2 Plus Dongle (e.g. HDMI1, HDMI2).
6. The screen should show the setup page of the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle.
If nothing is showing up, try connecting the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle’s USB cable to a charger or power bank.
Once you have the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle Setup Screen, Please proceed to the next step.
7. Connect your device to Anycast M2 Plus Dongle Wifi. Use the password from the setup screen (e.g. 224712345).
8. Once connected, go to the setup website: 192.168.203.1 and click “Internet” and connect to your Router.
9. Once your Anycast M2 Plus Dongle is connected to your router you will have access to the internet and the setup page connection status will look like this:
Now you’re ready to mirror or stream contents to your TV.
We’ll try the Mirroring mode first because it’s easier to setup.
Anycast Mirroring Mode:
1. Toggle the mode button of the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle to enter mirroring mode.
Your screen should look like this and is ready to mirror your device’s screen.
2. Depending on your device (I used my Alcatel Flash 2), go to settings, then go to display, click on Cast and Enable wireless display and then connect to the AnyCast M2 Plus Dongle.
Alternatively, if there’s an option on your device, you can enable Cast by opening your device notification.
Once connected, you can now mirror your device screen to your TV.
You’re going to need a 3rd party app for streaming mode. The one that I’m using is the iMediaShare for local files and Flipps TV for online content. Both of the apps are connected with each other, there’s an option in iMediaShare to open Flipps TV.
1. Toggle the mode button on the Anycast M2 Plus Dongle to switch to the main setup page
2. Open iMediaShare app on your device
choose a local content. For my example, I opened the gallery videos and chose a movie.
Click the movie and choose Anycast for the screen to use.
The media content will buffer for a bit and play smoothly afterwards. the playback quality will depend on the strength of your wireless connection.
The awesome thing about this compared to the mirroring mode is that you can still use your phone normally while streaming content. Just make sure you don’t accidentally stop/clear your iMediaShare app.
Yes you can, although I haven't tried it because I don't have an iphone but from my research when I made this article you can use an iphone with the anycast dongle
