Design and Construction
The Tronsmart PBT10 comes with a very solid packaging with a magnetic flap like what we saw with the Tronsmart Element T2 Bluetooth speaker, which is a very well appreciated thing when it comes to packaging. It just shows that the brand pays attention to details and quality of their product.
Technology and Features
The Tronsmart PBT10 supports Quick Charge 3.0, so smartphones compatible with this feature can take full advantage of this technology. Quick charge 3.0 employs intelligent Negotiation for Optimum Voltage, an algorithm which allows your portable device to determine what power level to request at any point in time, enabling optimum power transfer while maximizing efficiency. Charging Performance
Now, when it comes to the real-world charging performance, the Tronsmart PBT10 did not disappoint.
I tested this first on my sister’s Huawei P10 to make sure it really does support Huawei’s FCP technology.
I first plugged it in on the black USB port which doesn’t support FCP and as expected, it’s only charging at normal speed.
And then I connected it to the green USB port which supports FCP, and the status changed into fast charging. It took only around 1.5 hours to fully charge the Huawei P10 from 10%-100% which for me is very much acceptable.
On the other hand, charging my entry-level Xiaomi Redmi 5A that only supports 5V/1A took me around 2.5 hours from 18%-100%.
And to make sure all the ports work as intended at the rated amperage and voltage, I tested it fully on different devices including my entry-level Xiaomi Redmi 5A.
As mentioned, my Xiaomi Redmi 5A only supports 5V/1A and the Tronsmart PBT10 delivered just that, maybe a tick lower at 5.12V/.9A which is still very acceptable.
I also tested the other port which gave us pretty much the same result.
And of course, I also tested it on the black port which can provide up to 5V/2.4A, and as expected at this point, it was able to provide just that as well.
The Tronsmart PBT10 can charge my phone approximately at least 3 times, which is sufficient enough to last me for a day without plugging my phone into a wall adaptor. Once the power bank is almost out of juice, the LED indicator will start blinking.
Now, when it comes to charging the Tronsmart PBT10 10000mAh power bank itself, as per specifications, it can support these input power delivery: 5V/3A, 9V/2A, 12V/1.5A and that would depend on the capability of the charging device you are going to use.
In this case, I used the Tronsmart PBT12 to charge the Tronsmart PBT10 and we’ve got 9.1V/1.96A which took us around 6 hours give or take to fully charge the Tronsmart PBT10.
VERDICT
Will I Recommend This? Yes!
If you want to charge your device fast efficiently and safely, then the Tronsmart PBT10 is the perfect power bank for you. With multiple charging technologies built-in, this power bank can cater to all sorts of devices, whether it’s just an entry-level smartphone or a flagship one, it will take advantage of the smart and efficient voltIQ technology. And if you have a quick charge 3.0 capable smartphone or a Huawei FCP compatible one, then there’s no reason why you wouldn’t want to consider this power bank.
