ASUS Launches the Z890 Motherboards in the Philippines

These motherboards are ready for Intel Core Ultra Processors (Series 2) with advanced AI, ultrafast connectivity, easy PC DIY, and high-performance components

MANILA, Philippines, November 13th, 2024 — ASUS Philippines today launched its lineup of Z890 motherboards from the ROG Maximus, ROG Strix, TUF Gaming, Prime and ProArt families, supporting Intel® Core™ Ultra processors (Series 2).

Held at Yes Please at the Palace in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig, ASUS, together with Intel, showcased its latest components to the media community and industry partners.

Along with it, the company also showcased the new Prime series graphics card. Ranging from RTX 4060 Ti up to RTX 4070 SUPER, these SFF-ready Prime graphics cards boast three fans in a sleek aesthetic with Axial-tech fan design for broad PC build compatibility.

ASUS WiFi 7 routers, the ROG Rapture GT-BE98 and RT-BE88U are also present at the launch. Boosting its throughput up to 7200Mbps with Multi-Link Operation (MLO) and 4K QAM, these dual and quad-band wifi 7 routers maximize the wireless connectivity of the Z890 motherboards, giving uninterrupted connection for gamers and daily internet use.

Ready for advanced AI PCs

ASUS Z890 motherboards are designed to meet the demands of AI-driven workflows, supporting high-performance DDR5 memory and expansive storage options. Four models (ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme, Apex, and ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi) feature dual PCIe 5.0 x16 slots for multi-GPU setups essential for intensive AI tasks.

The series introduces ASUS AI Advisor, an AI-powered assistant for real-time hardware guidance. DIY beginners can access one-click optimization features like AI Overclocking, which adapts CPU performance based on unique system components, and AI Cooling II, which auto-tunes fan speeds to reduce noise by up to 5.7dB(A) while optimizing cooling.

New tools to unleash DDR5 memory kits

ASUS introduces a new NitroPath DRAM slot design across its Z890 motherboards (ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme, Hero, and ROG Strix Z890-E Gaming WiFi) to help enthusiasts achieve top memory overclocks. NitroPath improves slot retention force, reduces noise interference, and optimizes data transfer speeds for enhanced performance.

The latest Clock Unbuffered DIMM (CUDIMM) kits feature an integrated clock driver for improved stability at high speeds, and ASUS’s AEMP III makes optimizing these modules easy with a two-phase tuning process that balances performance and stability, supporting speeds up to DDR5-8000.

For traditional UDIMM users, AEMP II profiles allow for optimized memory configurations, even with mixed brands and PMIC-restricted modules. ASUS’s DIMM Fit feature further streamlines memory optimization by analyzing each module to ensure maximum stability and efficiency. This comprehensive approach enables builders to achieve high-performance memory configurations with ease.

Thunderbolt 5 makes a splashy entrance

The new Z890 series motherboards introduce Thunderbolt 5 with up to 80 Gbps bi-directional bandwidth and 120 Gbps with Bandwidth Boost, supporting up to three 8K displays at 60Hz. Compatible with USB4 V2, it also supports daisy-chaining of up to five devices per port.

Two Z890 models, the ROG Maximus Z890 Extreme and ProArt Z890-Creator WiFi, include dual Thunderbolt 5 ports. Other ASUS Z890 boards can add Thunderbolt 5 with the ASUS ThunderboltEX 5 card, featuring three Mini DisplayPort INs and 100W Flexible Quick Charge.

Thunderbolt Share simplifies multitasking, allowing users to control two PCs, drag-and-drop files, and sync folders over a secure, private connection without impacting network performance.

Next-gen networking with WiFi 7

ASUS Z890 motherboards offer WiFi 7 support, with link speeds up to 6.5Gbps with MLO, 4K QAM, and access to 320MHz channels, the motherboards give users a premium wireless networking experience.

All ASUS Z890 motherboards with WiFi 7 support include the ASUS WiFi Q-Antenna and a new ASUS-exclusive software feature that makes it easy to get optimal networking performance. With circuit optimizations to the PCB and enhanced inner pin connectors, the WiFi Q-Antenna delivers exceptional signal throughput for the 5GHz and 6GHz bands. Direction Finder detects signal strength and identifies the ideal positioning for an antenna in just a few steps, while Fast Check provides a quick way to check signal strength and ensure the best connection.

Easy PC DIY made easier

Building a PC is far more straightforward than many users think — and it’s getting even easier with ASUS Z890 motherboards.

ASUS Z890 motherboards make PC building easier with a refined BIOS interface, now in 1080p resolution, and a Q-Dashboard that visually maps the motherboard layout for easy navigation. MyHotKey enables quick access to BIOS updates and boot device selection, enhancing convenience.

Upgrades like the PCIe Slot Q-Release Slim simplify graphics card removal without latches, while the M.2 Q-Slide and refreshed Q-Latch make installing and securing M.2 drives effortless. ASUS also introduces the M.2 Q-Release heatsink for quick, tool-free installation.

The new ASUS DriverHub centralizes driver management, helping users keep their systems updated and running smoothly with minimal effort.

Round up the setup with new ASUS and ROG Monitors

Alongside the launch of the new Intel motherboards, ASUS introduced several new monitors.

First is the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP, the world’s first OLED gaming monitor offering 1440p visuals at an ultra-smooth and ultra-fast 480Hz refresh rate. It features a 26.5-inch WOLED panel with an anti-glare coating, 0.03 ms response time, and a new RWGB subpixel layout for clearer text. The ROG Swift OLED PG27AQDP also includes an AI Assistant with features like AI Visual, AI Crosshair, AI Sniper, AI ShadowBoost, and MOBA Map Helper to enhance gaming experiences.
