Transcend Unveils Embedded 3D NAND SSD Solutions with Enhanced Reliability and Wide Temperature Range for the AIoT Market

Transcend Information Inc., a leading manufacturer of storage and multimedia products, proudly presents a new line of solid-state drives made for the high-end embedded market. Made of top-tier 3D NAND and featuring enhanced endurance as well as exceptional thermal tolerance, this latest line-up comprises SSDs in the 2.5” SATA III, PCIe M.2, and SATA III M.2 form factors. Rated to endure 3K P/E (Program/Erase) cycles, and engineered to withstand extreme operating temperatures from -40°C to 85°C, these SSDs are made to reliably operate with embedded applications, including AIoT (Artificial Intelligence of Things), ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems), IoV (Internet of Vehicles), and surveillance systems.

3K P/E Cycles Plus Wide Temperature Functionality Mean Greater Endurance, Reliability, and Stability

Featured in this release are V-series SSDs with enhanced endurance and I-series drives with both enhanced endurance and a wide operating temperate range. Available in four form factors including 2.5” SATA III, PCIe M.2, and SATA III M.2 (Type 2242 and 2280), these SSDs meet the strict size requirements of many embedded platforms. All Transcend SSDs are built of the highest quality 3D NAND flash. In 3D NAND flash, memory cells are stacked vertically in multiple layers to overcome the density limitations of planar NAND. With an endurance rating of 3K P/E cycles – the same as that of MLC NAND – these SSDs deliver stellar performance and optimal reliability. The I-series is tested to ensure reliable operation across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 85°C, allowing it to be used safely in extreme operating environments for an extended period of time.

PCIe NVMe Interface for Consistently Impressive Speeds

Within the new line-up, the MTE550T-V and the MTE550T-I M.2 2280 SSDs meet NVMe 1.3 standards and utilize the PCIe Gen3 x4 interface, meaning four lanes are used for transmitting and receiving data simultaneously. The result is a compelling performance of up to 1,800 MB/s read and 800 MB/s write. Low power consumption and excellent reliability are also hallmarks of this construction, ensuring long-term dependability.

In-House Technologies for Prolonged Product Lifespan

The new line of SSDs comes fortified with many of Transcend’s advanced in-house technologies. SLC caching and a RAID engine power up read and write speeds and extend product life; a RAID engine protects data and enhances drive stability, and LDPC (Low-Density Parity Check) Error Correction Code detects and corrects bit errors for greater reliability. These features are all crucial for memory products being used in, for example, AIoT applications.

Transcend Exclusive SSD Scope Pro Software

The proprietary SSD Scope software is a tailor-made kit that measures an SSD’s health. Tools include View Drive Information, View S.M.A.R.T. Status, Diagnostic Scan, Secure Erase, Firmware Update, TRIM Enable, Health Indicator, and System Clone.

All of Transcend’s embedded 3D NAND SSDs are covered by a three-year limited warranty.
